Amr ibn al-As Mosque.
Project: Amr ibn al-As Mosque.
Location: Old Cairo , Egypt.
Scope: Facade Lighting.
For the Amr ibn al-As Mosque—the oldest mosque in Africa and a site of immense historical weight—Lightix provided a sophisticated facade lighting system that honors its architectural evolution and spiritual legacy. Following its recent comprehensive renovation, our lighting strategy focused on a respectful "layering" of light that accentuates the mosque's vast perimeter and its iconic minarets. We utilized high-precision, architectural-grade LED projectors to wash the limestone walls in a warm, uniform glow, emphasizing the structural grandeur and the rhythmic sequence of its exterior arches. The installation was engineered to provide a soft, non-intrusive nighttime presence that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding Fustat revitalization project, ensuring that this cornerstone of Islamic history remains a majestic and tranquil landmark within the Old Cairo skyline.
